Motorola RAZR V3xx Platinum Phone Version 1

I bought this phone because I was told it gets great reception. I don’t know about great, but this phone gets reception in areas where I didn’t with my old Motorola. The added features of Bluetooth, MP3 capability, and voice recognition are a definite bonus. The camera is so-so (picture clarity, convenience), but I didn’t get it for the camera. I would have rated this 5 stars, except the battery in this phone lasts 1/2 as long as my old Motorola, approximately 5-6 days depending on usage. Given the size of the screen, I suppose it takes more battery to power it. Also, the phone did not come with a car charger, which was an inconvenience. However, the phone itself is a wonderful upgrade and I am a very satisfied customer.

The phone is neat and comes with a lot of great features, but buyer beware-the warranty is basically non-existant. We had a problem with the keyboard and called for warranty service and they said that the warranty is invalid if there is any water damage. We explained that there was no water damage, it just stopped working. They asked us to check a “dot” sensor on the phone. If the dot is red, the warranty is invalid. We asked how the dot could be red when the phone (2 months old) never got wet, and their rep told us that rain, sweat or being exposed to humidity or condensation! An unscientific survy of razr uses at a soccer game found 4 of 5 with the dot turned red-and hense no warranty.
So bottom line is, it is a good phone, as long as you don’t sweat or live in a location where it rains or gets humid.
There are much more reliable options out there.

I bought this phone after I had trouble with a different one and I really like it. Reception is real good, sound quality is good, it has some great features and its very attractive. The camera is good, and it does have a zoom, (I dont know why someone here said it doesn’t), but dont count on decent pictures in low lighting. I love the music player on it and bought the 1G memory card for it so I can use it as a mp3 player as well. Which is nice for taking walks and stuff so that you dont need a seperate mp3 player too. Plus with the memory card, its easy to tranfer stuff to and from the computer to the phone. I really recommend this phone.

I’ve had the Razor V3xx for about two weeks now. Now I’m a techie, but just because I’m a techie, not all of my toys have to be the “new hardware/software.” I didn’t buy into the Razor fad when it first came out. I’ve always been a Nokia fan. Plus I’ve had the Sony Ericsson w300i. I didn’t care too much for Motorola. My mom has a Motorola, but it’s a different style. So far her’s works great. She’s not technically inclined, but she gets by.
Now I don’t need my cellphone to be a music player because I have the discontinued 30GB iPod (which I’ve dropped like three times on concrete and still plays!!!) I don’t need to surf the web on it because I value screen size and besides I don’t want to pay the extra money to surf the web when I have a laptop. I mainly use it just as a cellphone, but I like style.
I have some friends and coworkers who have the Razor (some have the V3xx and others have prior versions). I asked them about how’s the reception, can they hear clearly when people are talking, can people they’re talking to hear them clearly, and battery life. I’ve been on edge because of the prior slim designs, but this is a bit heavier. It feels durable and feels good. I’ve debated between this one and two Nokia versions (with AT&T, the 6555 and the upgraded version of the 6102).
So far I’ve been happy with the reception, volume, and battery life. I use it daily and near traffic. In all places, inside a store, next to the road with heavy traffic, inside a noisy bus and have been happy with the way it works. I heard them clearly and they heard me. I haven’t had to say, “What was that?” yet.
If you value, programs/software on a cellphone, this is probably not what you’re looking for (go for Nokia, as far as I know). If you want a cellphone and have it to be stylish, then yes this cellphone is for you. It’s better than previous version of the Razor.
BTW, I wouldn’t choose the iPhone. Don’t go with the flow!!

Not a bad product at all. I was mostly dissappointed with the shipping, which I think is beyond Amazon’s control. Amazon gave me free 2-day shipping, however I did not receive the phone until eight days after Amazon sent me a notification that the item had been pick up. I love the v3xx. Many of the complaints that I have read either have not been an issue for me or it’s something minor that doesn’t bother me. I love the inside display (very bright and sharp). I really like the microSD slot and the fact I can lock the external quick keys. My favorite phone so far.
